BigRigConnect Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how [Your Legal Entity Name] (“BigRigConnect,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the BigRigConnect mobile application and related services (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

1. Who this applies to

BigRigConnect is a networking and community app for professional truck drivers. The App is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

Account information: email address and password (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not visible to us).
Profile information: display name, username/handle, profile photo, bio, city and state, CDL class, endorsements, route type, years of experience, total miles, truck details, age, and gender. Some of these are optional.
Content you create: posts, photos, videos, comments, community-board threads and posts, direct messages, connection requests, reactions, and bookmarks.
Driver tools: if you use them, expense entries and maintenance-log entries you add.
Reports and blocks: information you submit when you report or block another user or a piece of content.

Location information

With your permission, we collect your device location to show nearby drivers on Discover and to let you optionally attach a location to a post. You can turn location access on or off at any time in your device settings.

Camera, photos, and microphone

With your permission, we access your camera and photo library so you can add photos and videos to posts or set a profile picture, and your microphone so you can speak in live voice rooms. We only access these when you choose to use the related feature.

Information collected automatically

Basic device and app information, log data, and general usage activity.
A push-notification token (if you enable notifications) so we can send you alerts.

Purchases

Subscriptions (BigRigConnect Pro) are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed through our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but do not collect or store your payment card details.

3. How we use information

Provide, operate, and improve the App and its features.
Create and manage your account and profile.
Show you relevant drivers, posts, and community content, including nearby drivers.
Enable messaging, connections, community boards, and live voice rooms.
Power the “Diesel” AI assistant (see Section 5).
Send notifications you’ve enabled.
Maintain safety and integrity — including reviewing reports, enforcing our Terms, and removing objectionable content or abusive users.
Comply with legal obligations.

4. How we share information

With other users: your profile, posts, community activity, and similar content are visible to other users of the App. Please be mindful of what you share.
With service providers who help us run the App, including:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage;
- RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play — subscription processing;
- Daily — real-time audio for live voice rooms;
- Anthropic — to power the Diesel AI assistant (see Section 5);
- Expo — push-notification delivery.
For legal reasons: when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or the public.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. The Diesel AI assistant

If you use Diesel, the messages you send to it are transmitted to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a response. Please do not share sensitive personal information with the assistant. Diesel provides general information only and is not a substitute for professional, legal, mechanical, medical, or DOT-compliance advice.

6. Your choices and rights

Edit your information at any time in your profile settings.
Delete your account from within the App (Settings → Delete Account). This permanently removes your account and associated data.
Location, camera, photos, microphone, and notifications can be controlled through your device permissions.
Block or report other users or content directly in the App.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us at the email below to make a request.

7. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The App is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.

10. International users

We operate in [Country/Region]. If you use the App from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and processed in [Country/Region], where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.

11. Changes to this Policy
